Brief

To build a jetty with wheelchair access to be used as a viewing platform out onto a private lake.  

Solution

A bespoke built aluminium framed, composite decked and clad jetty complete with aluminium handrails around the entire perimeter with the outermost handrails built at a lower level to enable easy viewing of the lake from a wheelchair.  

Challenges

The main challenge for this project was designing a platform which was both safe for wheelchair access and provided a clear viewing point of the lake.  As the outermost handrails were built at a lower level, much consideration had to go into ensuring that the platform was equally safe for children, so the height of the handrails was critical.
